Kuito — The Angolan Ministry of Justice and Human Rights will soon start the process of free birth registration of unregistered youths and adults in central Bie province.
This was announced Friday in Kuito (Bie), by the minister of Justice and Human Rights, Rui Jorge Carneiro Mangueira.
Speaking to the press, the minister said that the measure is intended to enable adults born in Angola to have a birth certificate and ID, so they can actively contribute to the development of the region.
In order for the project to be accomplished, the minister added, the sector will set up movable and fixed teams to serve people living in remote areas.
According to the minister, besides the free birth registration, the Ministry will also conduct awareness campaigns in the communities, on the importance of birth registration.
