Nigeria: Katsina Govt Approves 100 Percent Salary Increase for State Chief Executives

Katsina — The Katsina State Government has announced 100 per cent salary increase for chief executives of government's agencies and boards.

Alhaji Lawal Jari, the state Commissioner for Finance, made this known during a news conference in Katsina on Friday.

Jari said the State Government also approved 35 per cent of the chief executives' annual salaries as their furniture allowance.

He noted that the increment took effect from January 2012, adding that the furniture allowance will be reviewed every four years.

The commissioner further said that beneficiaries included five Managing Directors, nine General Managers and 14 Executive Directors, under the state civil service.

He urged the beneficiaries to intensify effort toward effective service delivery and delivery of dividends of democracy to the citizenry.
