Nigeria: Ritualists Abduct Six Inmates of Leprosy Home

Suspected ritualists operating in Asaba and Ughellimetropolis of Delta State, yesterday reportedly abducted six inmates of tuberculosis and leprosy home located in Sanubi town,Ughelli North local government area of the state.

Eyewitness said the suspected ritualists in the early hours of yesterday invaded the centre and abducted six inmateson treatment in a Honda Civic car.

LEADERSHIP WEEKEND gathered that there were sporadic gun shut to scare away residents during the abduction of the inmates.

Police spokesman in the state, DSP Charles Muka, confirmed that the gun shots attracted the attention of the policebut they could not rescue the victims.

Suspected ritualistshave been operating for a while now inUgolo-Orogun, where two teenagers were reportedly found dead with vital parts of their bodies removed.

Muka however said that some persons were arrested last October, adding that upon interrogation, they confessed to have beenworking for some persons in Kano.
