Mendefera — The Association of Dairy Farmers in the Southern region indicated that it is exerting endeavors to boost production on the basis of promoting green feed farming.

Mr. Niguse Haile, Chairman of the Association, disclosed that it is preparing to cultivated green feed on 200 hectares in the Hazemo plains, besides its plan to plant animal feed processing factory in Mendefera and Dekemhare.

Mr. Hailat Andu, the Association's manager, said on his part that they anticipate collecting bountiful amount of green feed through application of select seeds and manure.

Mr. Zebib Kahsai, head of the Agriculture Ministry's branch in Mai-Aini sub-zone, pointed out that the Association has been engaged in the collection of select seeds and preparation of fertilizer, and that it is ready to start cultivation of the farmland as of early 2013.
