Nigeria: Northern Governors' Wives to Launch Polio Eradication Campaign

Wives of the governors of the 19 northern states under the aegis of Northern Governor's Wives Forum will soon launch polio eradication campaigns in all the three geopolitical zones of the north to help reduce the effect of polio virus.

They disclosed this in a communiqué signed by the chairperson of the group and wife of the Benue State Governor, Yemisi Suswam and the secretary, Fatima Ibrahim at the end of their meeting hosted by the Gombe state Governor's wife, Adama Dankwambo last week in Abuja.

The forum said the campaign which is slated for the first quarter of 2013 aims at sensitizing and mobilizing the people against stiff resistance hence partnering with the development agencies and other stakeholders.
