Angola: Luanda to Test Speedy Passenger Transportation System

Luanda — The National Road Transport Department (DNTR) will test in the country's capital (Luanda), as from next year, the "BRT" system that enables a speedier transportation of passengers by bus.

The official of DNTR's technical department, Noélia Assuílo, said it is a system of high capacity and quality, capable of meeting the desires of passengers faster and more comfortably and will be tested, in a first phase, along the Corimba/Cidade Universitária route.

"It is a combination of road infrastructure, vehicle, operation systems of control and information to passengers to grant a quality public transport service", he stressed whilst speaking at the transport fair.

He said that to expedite the deployment of the rapid transport system exclusive lanes for buses, bus stops/stations will be created with a modern structure in which the passenger must pay the trip at the station's entrance and not inside the bus.
