Kenya: Malawian VP Kachali Jets Into Kenya

Nairobi — Malawian Vice President Khumbo Hasting Kachali arrived in Kenya on Sunday afternoon for a two- day official visit.

The plane carrying the Vice President and his delegation touched down at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport shortly after 4pm and was received by his Kenyan counterpart, Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka and high ranking government dignitaries.

Kachali is scheduled to represent Malawian President Joyce Banda, during the 60th anniversary celebrations of Maendeleo ya Wanawake to be held at the Kenyatta International Conference centre on Monday.

President Mwai Kibaki is scheduled to be the guest of honour at the celebrations.

Kachali is accompanied by Malawi Minister for Gender, Annita Kalindu.

The Kenyan officials at the airport included, Home Affairs PS, Dr. Ludeki Chweya and his Gender Counterpart, Frankline Easipila, and national officials from the Maendeleo ya Wanawake Organisation among others.
