Sudan: Unamid Supports Nomadic Education in North Darfur

El-Fasher — In a media brief published on Sunday November 25, UNAMID announced its support of nomadic education in North Darfur.

The Mission's media brief said that it presented 12 tents to North Darfur's Ministry of Education on Thursday, to be used as mobile classrooms for nomads in five localities of the state.

It was added that the tents will accommodate thousands of nomadic boys, girls and their teachers in the localities of El-Waha, Serif, Saraf Omra, Kabkabiya and El-Cuma and will allow them to learn in a conducive environment.

The state's Commissioner for the Humanitarian Aid Commission, Ibrahim Ahmed Hamid, thanked UNAMID for the gesture and urged them to assist the nomadic communities in capacity building and other training programmes.
