Uganda: Kenyan Rally Ace Anwar U.S Stakes in Mbarara Motor Sprint

The entry of Kenyan Asad Anwar has heightened the level of competition in the Mbarara Motor Club (MMC) Sprint at Lubiri this Sunday.

According to the event coordinator, George Ssemakula, the fast rising Kenyan driver will use veteran Wycliff Bukenya's Mitsubishi Evo9.

"To encourage foreign participants, crews have been allowed to share cars. That has made it easy for drivers to come for this race. In the same spirit we could also easily participate in their race," Ssemakula stated.

The Kenyan female crew of Stella Macharia andco-driver Helen Shiri will drive Ponsiano Lwakataka's Subaru N8. The Kenyan ladies are particularly eager to gauge themselves against 2011 Uganda national champion Susan 'Super Lady' Muwonge.

African champion Mohammed Essa from Zambia was the first to confirm participation in the sprint that has so far attract 36 drivers.
