Former President Daniel arap Moi's son, Philip, has finally been arrested after he defied court orders to pay his estranged wife Rossana Pluda upkeep amounting to millions of shillings.

Philip was arrested on Monday morning in Muthaiga after escaping a police dragnet on several occasions, and was taken to court moments later.

High Court Judge GBM Kariuki who is hearing the matrimonial case had issued the arrest order after Philip failed to keep his word to pay the monthly emoluments to his ex-wife.

Philip had complained to the court that he could not afford the Sh250,000 monthly payments since he is not working and only relies on pension from the Department of Defence where he retired as an Army Major.

At one time, Philip had filed a bankruptcy case to show the court that he is not a man of means.
