Nigeria: Women to Get 4 Miillion Euros Oxfam Funds

About 50 percent of Oxfam's annual budget of 4million Euros for Nigeria would be given to various women focused programmes .

Oxfam is an international development organization opera-ting in Nigeria . Country Director of Oxfam, Chichi Aniagolu-Okoye, said this when she led officials of the organization on a visit to Women Affairs Minister Zainab Maina.

A statement from the ministry by it spokesman Saghir el-Muhammed quoted Aniagolu-Okoye as saying that the organization was prepared to partner with the Federal Government through the ministry to fast track the development of vulnerable groups in the country, especially women.

Responding, Zainab Maina said the ministry was focusing on the ongoing constitution amendment to put forward proposals that would promote the development of women in the country.
