Mauritania, EU Discuss Aviation Security

Mauritanian Transport Minister Yahya Ould Haddemine met with EU experts last week in Belgium to discuss aviation security in Mauritania.

At the November 21st meeting, Mauritania presented a full report on air transport security and safety standards, the minister told AMI.

A delegation of technicians and administrative staff specialised in civil aviation safety accompanied Ould Haddemine to the Brussels meeting, which aimed to assess Mauritania's efforts to comply with international systems and standards.

Mauritania is trying to meet the required conditions for lifting the European ban imposed 4 years ago.
