Mbanza Kongo — Six attempts to violate the border between Angola and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), in the last seven days, were recorded by the Border Police in Zaire Province, which represents an increase of one case in comparison to the previous seven days.
According to a communiqué from the Zaire Police Command, which reached ANGOP on Monday, in the sequence of the mentioned border violation attempts 18 DRC citizens were detained.
The note informs that the illegal immigrants tried to enter the Angolan territory through the localities of Ponta de Padrão (Soyo Municipality), Kinguvo (Nóqui) and Mpala (Mbanza Kongo).
Zaire Province shares a terrestrial border with DRC's Bas Congo region which is about 330 kilometres long.
