Mansard Insurance Plc (formerly Guaranty Assurance Plc.) has confirmed the appointment of Adeleye, Taiwo Adewale as Assistant General Manager, marketing and communications. Until his new appointment, Taiwo was Marketing Manager - Households, PZ Cussons.
Taiwo brings his over 15 years experience in brand management and marketing communications. With this appointment, Taiwo, according to a statement from the company, will continue to provide strategic leadership for the marketing team as well as manage the corporate communications of Mansard Insurance. On assumption of office, Taiwo led the project team that midwifed the recent rebranding of GTAssur to Mansard Insurance plc.
Taiwo began his marketing career at Cadbury Nigeria Plc (now Kraft Foods) where he started out as a management trainee and upon completion of the 18 month trainee period, he pioneered the 'Bournvita sampling and schools' events sponsorship team'. This team has grown to become the consumer contact unit within the marketing department of the company.
Between January 2001 and July 2008, Taiwo managed all flagship brands of Cadbury Nigeria Plc, including Bournvita, Cadbury Richoco, Trebor Buttermint and Tom Tom. As manager on Cadbury Richoco, he staged a brand packaging and recipe relaunch which resulted in 86 per cent volume growth and 8 per cent points' appreciation in the brands market share.
A graduate of Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Lagos, Akoka, and an MBA (Marketing) from the same University, he is also a full member of the National Institute of Marketing in Nigeria (NIMN) and an associate of the Nigeria Institute of Management (NIM) as well as the Advertisers Association of Nigeria (ADVAN), where he plays an active membership role.
