Eritrea: Dairy Farmers Association in Hagaz Sub-Zone Exerting Endeavors to Boost Production

Hagaz — The Association of Dairy Farmers in Hagaz sub-zone indicated that it is exerting endeavors to boost production. It has sold more than 647,000 liters of milk this year in the markets in Keren and Hagaz, according to Mr. Mahmoud Ali Osman, Chairman of the Association.

Among the members, Mr. Hamde Kiflom, Mr. Jellani Abubeker and Mr. Tewoldemedhin Zere said that working as an association has enabled them to mutually ensure ample resources, exchange experience, and thus foster production.

Mr. Zenawi Kahsai from the Agriculture Ministry's branch in the sub-zone asserted that the Association is in a position to raise output, and that commendable veterinary service is being provided in the locality.

Reports indicate that the Association that comprises 158 members is supplying 1,232 liters of milk to the local markets on daily basis, and that it collects green feed from a total of 35 hectares.
