Finalizing Year Long Celebration: The Addis Ababa's 125th anniversary was celebrated for the past 10 months in varies activities.

The final programs of the celebration were held at the Addis Abeba Stadium on Saturday, November 24, 2012. The closing ceremony was marked by the presence of Kuma Demeksa, mayor of the city, government officials, diplomats and city dwellers. Students of different schools presented sport and musical performances

The celebration that started in the mid February 2011 has proceeded with various events including football games, athletic events, and parades inaugurating botanic garden and visiting ceremonies. A number of research papers covering various aspects of the city and its 125-year existence presented in different forums.

The Addis Abeba City Administration will be inviting a gala dinner those individuals who helped for the successful celebration of the anniversary.
