Rwanda: Beating and Injuring Tops Criminal List in Last Three Months

Gicumbi — Police Chief in Rulindo district, AIP Ildephonse Habimana has said that beating and injuring was cited as the most committed crime in the last three months.

This was revealed during the general security meeting held on November 22nd 2012 in Gicumbi district.

The meeting was aimed at evaluating security in Gicumbi district and to device measures of tightening security.

However, it was found out that people who commit this crime are drug abusers.

To avert the problem, measures to fight drugs and bars that open before evening were taken during the meeting.

For security to be kept successfully, residents are expected to work hand in hand with leaders by giving out information on whereabouts of drugs that are illegally brought into Gicumbi especially from Uganda.

It was agreed that eradicating drug use and drunkardness will reduce on idleness and crime doing.
