Kenya: Dealers Stuff Sh0.5 Million Bhang in Saloon Car

POLICE in Rongo, Migori county seized a bhang haul worth Sh500,000 which was being transported from Sirare border over the weekend.

The 2,200 stones of bhang were found stuffed under seats and the boot of a saloon car. Migori deputy OCPD, James Mwangi said the two occupants of the vehicle escaped and police have already started a manhunt for them while their vehicle was taken to Rongo police station.

Mwangi said bhang trafficking is rampant in the county as bhang is cultivated on a large scale basis in Mara regions of Tanzania where the drug is transported all the way to Nairobi and Mombasa.

"We have managed to control the vice in the area due to positive public support which will see us win the war on illicit drugs that have ruined the lives of many youths in the country," he said.
