Zimbabwe: Chitungwiza Women's Assembly Leader Passes On

President Tsvangirai will this afternoon pay his condolences to the Nhamburo family following the death of Amai Martha Nhamburo, the MDC Chitungwiza Women's Assembly chairperson and councillor for Ward 4 in Goromonzi West.

Clr Nhamburo passed away Sunday at her home in Mungati village Domboshava after complaining shortness of breath. She joined the MDC in 1999 and was elected branch secretary before becoming ward secretary then finally district secretary.

A soft spoken, brave and confident woman, Clr Nhamburo believed in the participation and strength of women working together and supporting each other for change to be achieved at political, social and economic levels.

She is survived by her husband and three children, Anesu, Moreblessing and Tanyaradzwa. Mourners are gathered at her rural home in Mungati village, Domboshava where she will be buried tomorrow.
