Children at the Home of Good Hope in the Goreangab informal settlement were treated to a Christmas party by the Finnish Embassy on Friday.
Finnish Ambassador Anne Saloranta, her husband and the staff of the Finnish embassy joined the children at the centre where they were given food, sweets, fruit and toiletries. The embassy generated some money from selling old furniture and appliances. It was then agreed that the money would be used for staff recreation. “But when I approached my staff with the idea of rather supporting the centre and giving the children a special treat everyone agreed and they even donated more money,” said Saloranta.
