Liberia: UNMIL Regrets November 22 Fatal Accident On RIA Highway

The United Nations Mission in Liberia (UNMIL) has expressed regrets in the loss of life resulting from a tragic traffic accident, which occurred on 22 November at 18:00h in Scheflin Town on the Roberts International Airport (RIA) highway, when a UN military ambulance collided with a motorcycle.

The rider and passenger of the motorcycle were taken to the nearby Firestone plantation hospital, where they were pronounced dead at 20:00h.

The United Nations extends its deepest sympathy to the families of the deceased and to the communities' mourning their loss.

UNMIL is collaborating with the Liberia National Police in the conduct of an investigation to determine the circumstances of the accident.
