Ghana: KFC Goes to Sakumo With First Drive-Thru Restaurant

Following the opening of its flagship restaurant on Oxford Street, Osu, last year, and another at North Industrial Area in the same year, KFC Ghana continues to deliver on its growth promise with the announcement at its third restaurant in Accra, now with a Drive-thru experience added at Community 18 Junction, Spintex Road, Sakumono.

Started in 1938 in Louisville, Kentucky, by the legendary chef Colonel Sanders, KFC's global operations today run 15000 outlets across 117 countries and serve more than 12 million customers worldwide daily.

Introduced into Ghana by Masco Foods, a Mohinani Group company, KFC Ghana serves over 3500 patrons daily.

The Managing Director of KFC Africa, Dough Smart, believes in the immense potential that Ghana offers for the growth of the Brand. "It is this potential that drove the Brand to take a strategic business decision to enter this emerging market- strengthen by its economic growth and a stable democracy".

The launch of Ghana's third store is part of KFC's overall plan for continued expansion across the Africa continent. KFC is already operating in 12 countries in Africa, and has provided economic growth and phenomenal job opportunities for the young and upcoming workforce of Africa, both in stores as well as through supply chain opportunities created locally.

"With the opening of Sakumono Drive-thru, KFC has created yet another element of convenience in food service to Ghanaians," said Ashok Mohinani, Executive Director of Masco Foods.

KFC Ghana is committed to the growth and expansion of the Brand and aims to make it more accessible in many more neighbourhoods in the years to come. Customers can also look forward to seeing expansion of KFC menu, with the inclusion of both international favorites of the Brand and also local dishes.
