Cameroon: Police Arrest Suspected Gang Leader in Muyuka

The head of a gang of armed robbers in Muyuka in the South West Region was nabbed by men of the Muyuka Police Station on Friday November 16, 2012.

Reports say a truck belonging to a brewery company was interrupted by a gang of armed robbers along the Muyuka-Bafia road. The armed robbers held on to the windscreen of the truck and wounded the driver on the head and arm.

The robbers stopped the truck and made away with the personal belongings of the driver while the conductors successfully escaped. The men of the Muyuka Police Station who were immediately informed arrived at the scene and began a thorough search for the gang. The police succeeded in getting the suspected head of the gang, Ayeah Divine Kubuo.

He had a gun and two other munitions in his possession. The suspect is presently in custody at the South West Regional Judicial Police. The police have begun investigations into the matter to bring the culprits to book.
