Liberia: 100 Liberians Set to Win Brand New Motorbikes From Cellcom

Liberia's best GSM company (according the National Excellence Awards), has launched a new program to provide 100 motorbikes to lucky customers. The 100 motorbike campaign is connected with Cellcom's long standing interest in providing opportunities to improve the lives of average Liberian citizens.

Cellcom's Chief Executive Officer Mr. Avishai Marziano said that the program was being done in conjunction with Bajaj Motorcycles. He said that over the course of 100 days, his company would pick the winner of a new motorbike each day. Marziano said: "Our company has always tried to find unique and diverse ways to support the Liberian people.

We know that transportation is a big issue and motorbikes are one way to alleviate this problem. We also see this as an opportunity for lucky winners who are interested in starting such a business to have a new source of income, which will help them to improve the lives of themselves and their families."

Chief Corporate Communications Strategist Dr. Kimmie Weeks also noted that Cellcom was also prioritizing safety of the beneficiaries of the motorcyclist. He said that in addition to the bikes, each winner would receive a full protective jumpsuit, a helmet, and heavy duty protective gloves. "The safety of our customers and pedestrians is our primary concern and so even as we are providing these bikes; we are also making sure they come with all of the latest safety gear to protect our customers."

Weeks explained that to enter the raffle, Cellcom customers simply had to add credits to their phones. "Essentially, for every dollar a customer scratch, they get a raffle ticket. So the more a customer purchases, the more raffle tickets they receive in our system, and the more chances they have to win," Weeks explained.

Every Monday, Cellcom gives away five bikes. As of today, Cellcom Cellcom has already given away 15 bikes to fifteen lucky winners. Another 85 winners will be announced over the next 85 days. Winner Samuel Adelowo noted that he was delighted to be selected to receive a bike. Mr. Adelowo said: "I am grateful to the management of Cellcom for making me own a bike for myself." Another lucky winner, Mr. Justin Sandi observed: "Before I won, it was my belief that you had to know someone from Cellcom. But now that I am a lucky winner of this bike, that notion is not true!" Many of the other winners shared the same view.

Cellcom's partner the Bajaj group which produces the bikes is ranked amongst the top ten business houses in India. Its footprint stretches over a wide range of industries, spanning automobiles (two-wheelers and three-wheelers), home appliances, lighting, iron and steel, insurance, travel and finance. The group's flagship company, Bajaj Auto, is ranked as the world's fourth largest two- and three- wheeler manufacturer and the Bajaj brand is well-known across several countries in Latin America, Africa, Middle East, South and South East Asia.
