Eritrea: Awenjeli Inhabitants Express Satisfaction With Community-Based Style of Living

Hagaz — The inhabitants of Awenjeli village, Hagaz sub-zone, said that they are in a position to become beneficiaries of social service facilities upon leading community life. They further explained that the new style of living has by and large improved their livelihood, and that the impact of education in the locality is on the rise.

Among the inhabitants, Ms. Meaza Michael and Mr. Idris Ibrahim indicated that they have become beneficiaries of several social service facilities, and commended the government's commitment to promote rural development. Mr. Birhanu Goitom, director of the Elementary School in the village, disclosed that school registration there has increased by 14%, and that the students' performance is commendable.

Mr. Ibrahim Jimi'e, Area Administrator, said that a second water distribution station is due to be constructed in line with the increasing number of inhabitants, and that the dirt road to the village has been renovated.

Awenjeli village is located around 6 Km. south of Hagaz semi-urban center.
