Kenya: Man Denies Assaulting Girl

A 34-year-old man was yesterday charged with indecent assault. Eliud Njuguna Mwangi denied the charge before Thika principal magistrate Martha Mutuku.

He was accused of touching the private parts of a nine-year-old girl on October 29 at Ngoingwa Estate in Thika, Kiambu county.

Mwangi, who was not represented, was remanded in custody since he could not raise a Sh100,000 with surety of similar amount imposed on him. The case will be heard next month. Chief Inspector Nancy Muthuri led the prosecution.
