FIBA rated Match Commissioner Col Sam Ahmedu (retd) and Kano Pillars referee, Kingsley Obeaburu are among over sixteen referees and match commissioner from the continent to officiate at the final round of the 2012 Africa Championships Cup for Men in Malabo. Africa basketball ruling body FIBA Africa released the list involving sixteen referees and four match commissioners as technical officials for the champion slated for the Equatorial Guinea capital from November 29 to December 8.
Among the sixteen referees listed for the championship are eleven accompanying referees and five neutral ones drawn from across the continent for the biggest club competition in Africa.
The accompanying referees include, Mathurin N'Guessan (ABC, Cote d'Ivoire); Kingsley Obeaburu (Kano Pillars, Nigeria); Jean Claude Kabulo(ASB Mazembe, DRC Congo); Eric Bilala (MANGA, Gabon); Shema Maboko (ESPOIR, Rwanda); Carlos Julio (Petro Atletico, Angola); Fernando Pacheco (Primeiro D'Agosto, Angola); Manuel Domingos (LIBOLO, Angola); Mohamed El Meshawy (AL-Ittihad, Egypt); Abdel Wael (AL ALHY, Egypt) and Sami Belgharek (ESS, Tunisia).
The five listed neutral referees are N'Jio Kom (Cameroon); Samir Abaakil (Morocco); Mohamed Ziyad (Morocco); Charles Foster (South Africa) and Abreu Muhima (Mozambique) while the four match commissioners include Abderaouf Menjour (Tunisia); Coffi Tonon (Benin Republic); Mohamed Azzabouri (Morocco) and Sam Ahmedu (Nigeria).
