Nigeria: Plateau Killing - CDS Charged to Investigate Soldiers

As the death toll from the Monday night attack on a beer parlour in Heipang in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area hits ten, the Chief of Defence Staff, Admiral Ola Ibrahim, has been charged to investigate the alleged involvement of soldiers in the incident.

Chairman of Barkin Ladi Local Government, Mr. Emmanuel Loman, while addressing the press on Tuesday in Jos said that survivors of the attack have identified a corporal as one of the attackers.

The corporal, who was identified as Salisu Gidado serving with the Special Task Force (STF), was allegedly dressed in the attackers' attires. He was said to have been injured severely during the attack, and was taken to the state Specialist Hospital.
