Egypt: Azhar Imam - Heavenly Religions Principles Can Solve Problems Facing Mankind

Al-Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed el-Tayyeb had talks on Monday 26/11/2012 with visiting Italian Minister for International Cooperation and Integration Andrea Riccardi.

Talks tackled means to boost cooperation between Al-Azhar and all religious, cultural and scientific institutions in Italy and the national role of Al-Azhar after the January 25 Revolution.

At the meeting Sheikh Tayyeb said that many major problems facing mankind nowadays could be avoided through true commitment to the principles of heavenly religions.

The sublime values of heavenly religions, if well understood and sincerely adhered to, would be a source of happiness and goodness to all mankind, he said.
