Egypt: Nation Denounces Attempts of M23 Rebel Group in Congo

Egypt denounced on Monday 26/11/2012 attempts by the M23 rebel group in The Democratic Republic of Congo to topple the regime.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Amr Roshdi reiterated Egypt's support for the African Union (AU) stance of rejecting the change of regimes by unconstitutional means.

He said Cairo welcomes a joint statement issued by the leaders of Congo, Rwanda and Uganda on the crisis.

He added that Egypt trusted the three leaders' prudence in managing the current crisis in Congo in a way that maintains security and stability in the country.

Egypt also supports efforts exerted by the government in Congo to preserve its unity and territorial integrity, he added.
