The Director General of the Bureau of Public Enterprises, Ms. Bolanle Onagoruwa has been relieved of her appointment.
This was disclosed today by the spokesman of the vice-President, Umar Sani.
According to the statement, she is to hand over to the most Senior Director in the Bureau, Mr. Benjamin Ezra Dikki, in an acting capacity.
"Mr. President extends his sincere appreciation to Mrs. Bolanle Onagoruwa for her services to the nation and wishes her the best in her future endeavours," the statement added.
The reasons for her sack are not yet clear but the Senate had in September demanded that the President remove her from office for what it termed "gross incompetence in the management of the BPE" as well as the "illegal and fraudulent sale of the five per cent Federal Government's shares in the Eleme Petrochemical Company limited, EPCL."
Their request for her removal was one of the 45 recommendations by the Senate ad-hoc committee that investigated the privatisation and commercialisation of public companies between 1999 and 2011 which was submitted in December 2011.
