Responding, Governor Isa Yuguda said had it been the multi-billion naira abandoned Kafin Zaki dam in the state had been completed, the effect of the flood on Bauchi and other parts of the North-east zone would not have been so much.

Yuguda called for the immediate construction of the Kafin Zaki dam, saying the project would also provide hydro electricity supply and aid irrigation farming.
