The police headquarters in Abuja yesterday said another detainee who escaped after gunmen attacked the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) dentition centre in Abuja Monday morning has been recaptured.

The attack which was launched by large number of gunmen led to the killing of two police guards while 30 detainees were freed. Police have re-arrested 25.

Meanwhile, a group which called itself Ansar, yesterday in a statement claimed responsibility for the attack. Police spokesman Frank Mba said yesterday that one other fleeing suspect was re-captured by the police last night.

However, Ansar, in a statement yesterday, said the attack was a successful and that 37 of their detained members were freed. When contacted to react on the claim by Ansar, Mba said the police haven't received the group's statement saying as soon as the statement is made available to the police, it will be studied.

However, Police Affairs Minister Caleb Olubolade visited the centre yesterday and directed the police to install security cameras at detention center.
