Nigeria: Onogoruwa, DG BPE Sacked

The presidency Tuesday sacked the Director General of the Bureau for Public Enterprises (BPE), Mrs. Bolanle Onagoruwa.

Although no reason was given for her disengagement, THISDAY learnt that it may not be unconnected with the call by the National Assembly (NASS) for her removal a month ago.

Mid October, the Senate, adopted the report of its ad hoc committee on privatisation and commercialisation, which submitted that Onagoruwa should be relieved of her position for alleged gross incompetence, illegal and fraudulent sale of the five per cent of Federal Government's residual shares in Eleme Petrochemicals Company Limited.

Similarly, the House of Representatives also prevailed on President Jonathan to sack Onagoruwa.
