Angola: President Swears Chiefs of Angolan Army and Police

Luanda — The Angolan President, José Eduardo dos Santos, sworn in this Wednesday in Luanda general chiefs of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA) and National Police, Geraldo Sachipengo Nunda and Ambrósio de Lemos Freire dos Santos, respectively.

On the occasion, the Head of State congratulated the chiefs on their good performance in the previous term and the exemplary way they complied with the principles and values enshrined in the Republic and Constitution.

I hope you continue to work with zeal and dedication to serve better and better the state and nation, thus contributing to the reinforcement and efficiency of organs of defence, internal order, intelligence and state security services.

At the Presidential Palace, the Angolan President also inaugurated the general António Egídio de Sousa e Santos as deputy general chiefs of staff of FAA for Patriotic Education.

The general Jorge Barros was also invested in the post of deputy general chiefs of staff of FAA for Operation and Development.

On the other hand, the Head of State also sworn in Paulo de Almeida as the deputy police commander.

The inauguration act was witnessed by the Vice-president of the Republic, Manuel Vicente, among other individualities.
