The fugitive son-in-law of ousted Tunisian president Zine El Abidine Ben Ali is ready to return home and face justice, AFP reported on Tuesday (November 27th).
"I want to go home as soon as possible. Give me a passport and I will return immediately. I'm ready for anything," Tunisian businessman Slim Chiboub said in an interview aired Monday night on Ettounsiya TV.
"Prison is better than being away from one's country," Chiboub said.
Since fleeing his homeland during the 2011 revolution, Chiboub has been living in the UAE.
In March, Chiboub was sentenced in absentia to five years in prison for possession of a firearm without permission.
