Sudan: Implementation of Darfur Water Project Announced

Khartoum — The Ministry of Finance in cooperation with the Transitional Darfur Regional Authority and the Ministry of Water Resources, Electricity and Dams, announced the upcoming implementation of a water project for Darfur, funded by the African Development Bank, Radio Dabanga learned on Tuesday Novemer 27.

It was added that the project will be implemented over a five year period.

Ali Mahmoud Abdul Rasoul, Minister of Finance, stated that the funding of this project will provide a fertile ground for peace in Darfur.

For his part, Abdul Camara, civil representative of the African Development Bank in Khartoum, said that the Darfur water project will build human as well as institutional capacity in the states of Darfur.

The representative added that the opening is scheduled to take place at the end of the current month.
