A KILIFI films and theatre group has embarked on a campaign to encourage Kenyans to register as voters. The campaign, launched yesterday, will run through the registration period .

Speaking to the Star at Kasarani in Kilifi town, the group's managing director Steve Ben said the team is trying to bridge the gap left by several organisations which should conduct civic education.

"Most organizations are focusing on how to vote but ignoring that before one goes for voting he must register as a voter. We have also realized that the voter registration turn out is very low that's why we are trying as much as we can to make sure that we reach every house hold and make sure they actually register as voters," he said

A member of the group Regina Victoria said the group is committed to bringing change to the communities in Kilifi County.
