Angola: Diplomat Reiterates Peaceful Solution to DRC's Conflict

Dar es Salaam — The secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Manuel Augusto, reiterated in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, that Angola is for a peaceful and lasting solution to the conflict in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Manuel Augusto, went to Tanzania bearing a message from the Angolan Head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos, to be handed to the Tanzanian President, Jakaia Kikuete.

The Angolan diplomat, who left the country a week ago, has handed message letters to the presidents of DRC, Congo Brazzaville, Rwanda and Uganda.

On Wednesday he was in Mozambique, in continuation of a tour intended to analyse the situation in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

This Thursday, the diplomat is leaving for Benin and on Friday he is due in Chad to hand over messages from President José Eduardo dos Santos to his counterparts of the mentioned countries.
