Angola: MPLA Pays Homage to Authors of Flag Hoisting

Luanda — The provincial committee of the ruling MPLA party in Luanda paid homage on Wednesday evening posthumously the nationalists Imperial Santana and Diniz Canhanga, who are considered the main authors of hosting the first flag of the Republic of Angola, on 11 November in 1975, the proclamation date of the national Independence.

The ceremony, which was held at Kilamba cultural and recreational centre, was led by the first secretary of the provincial committee of MPLA in Luanda, Bento Bento and witnessed by MPs, cabinet officials and various figures that contributed to the materialisation of the freedom and sovereignty.
