Nigeria: MPs Move to Compel Nexim Bank to Submit Budget

The House of Representatives yesterday passed for second reading a bill seeking to compel the Nigerian Export-Import Bank (NEXIM) to present its annual budget proposal before the National Assembly for scrutiny.

Sponsored by Rep. Jones Onyereri (PDP, Imo) the bill is seeking to amend section 8 of the NEXIM Bank Act, 2004 to "require the bank to prepare and forward to the National Assembly Annual Reports of its operations and finances."
