Friends of Bakau Lower Basic School, a charitable organisation based in UK ,in collaboration with Pa Landing Jallow and Family, recently donated learning materials to Bakau Lower Basic School, at a presentation ceremony held at the school ground. The donated materials included: books, pencils, pens, and sport wears, among others.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Alagie Bojang, the headmaster of the school, expressed delight with Pa Landing and Family and described the donation as timely. He said his school endeavours to create a happy, secure and successful school environment and that the donors have made their dreams come true.
For his part, Kebba Jobe, a senior teacher at the school, thanked Pa Landing and Family for the donation. He disclosed that the donor is an ex-student and native of Bakau, who takes delight in contributing to the development of the educational sector of his country. Pointing out that the government alone cannot do it all, Jobe therefore urged others to emulate Pa Landing.
Ebrima Darboe, the physical education teacher, also expressed delight on behalf of his school team, promised to work as a team and to take good care of the sport wears. Oumie Riley Beyai also spoke at the event.
