Gambia: Pencha Coach Rejoice Over Win

The head coach of Dippa Kunda-based Pencha continues to rejoice over his side's League Cup triumph over Latrikunda FC. Pencha beat their Latrikunda rivals 2-0 in the finals of the QCell sponsored League competition with both goals coming from Muhammed Fayinkeh. They subsequently took home the D50,000 cash prize.

Speaking after the final whistle, Abdoulie Ann thanked God for making the victory possible. "I would also want to thank the Serrekunda West Committee and my entire technical staff and to my opponents who I congratulate because they need to be commended for their great effort because straight from qualifying to play in a final is something big. I am very happy, very glad definitely. It was a well contested final as both teams played good football," he enthused.

The victorious coach who was speaking to a sea of reporters then went on to say that the past two meetings between the two teams in both competitions served as a catalyst for his side to gain victory. "We prepared very well for them. For the third time we have been playing against them. We learned from the two previous matches we met. So we went back to the training ground and prepared tactically for them and we used [preparations] we have done and exploited them," he added.
