Gambia: Tumana Youths Reaffirm Support to APRC Party

Basse, Urr — The youths of Dampha Kunda in the Tumana District of the Upper River Region (URR) have reaffirmed their unflinching support to the ruling Alliance for Patriotic Reorientation and Construction (APRC) party, stressing that they will continue to rally behind the government of the day for the consolidation and attainment of the desired development goals.

The youths were speaking on the occasion of the adoption of the chairman of Basse Area Council (BSAC), Omar Sampo Ceesay, as "father". Addressing the youths who rallied in the village square, the newly adopted father expressed gratitude for this honour, and saluted their steadfastness in national development endeavors. He told the youths that their development forms part of the top priorities of the Jammeh administration as can be attested to over the years.

The BSAC boss said since the coming in of the APRC government 18 years ago, it has been striving to meet up the status of developed countries,by among other things, effecting tangible infrastructural development. While urging the youths of the area to redouble efforts and to rally behind President Jammeh, Ceesay told them that the president is "theleader that can bring rapid development with support for youths."

For the regional APRC secretary, Malang Fofo Sanneh, the youths should be commended for their unflinching support to the ruling party. He said since President Jammeh took over the mantle of leadership 18 years ago, his administration has put emphasis on youth empowerment, cognisant of their critical role in national development endeavors. "APRC party is the only party that can bring mammoth development in the country and I want to urge you to remain supportive to the party," he enjoined the youths.

The lady president in Dampha Kunda, Aja Ma Kansa Jabbie; the lady councilor for Upper Fulladou, Neneh Darboe; and the regional youth mobiliser, Mawdo Susso, all hailed the development strides undertaken by the present government. While acknowledging the numerous developments registered in the region, these party stalwarts urged the youths to maintain the good relationship that exists among them andto rally behind the APRC.

The president of the youths of the village and the Village Development chairman: Fatoumatta Ceesay, and Alhagie Nyariya respectively, both thanked President Jammeh for his love for the country, while reaffirming their support to him and the party in the cause of national development.
