Gambia: Fire Ravages Gamtel's Basse Staff Residence

Basse, Urr — The residence of the staff of Gamtel Basse branch Tuesdayevening burnt into ashes by a fire incident. The cause of the fire which is yet to be established burned down the whole household materials.

Dawda Jallow, the regional manager of Gamtel Basse branch who spoke to the Daily Observer shortly after the incident said he lost everything in the house ranging from money, documents, furniture among other valuable items during the three hours fire incident. He said the money burnt is estimated is over D13, 000 but added that no one was hurt as at the time of the incident, his family members were out of the premises.
