Gambia: Macassa Champs of East Knockout

Maccassa run out champions of the Gamtel sponsored East Knockout Cup after brushing off S.V Laar in titanic duel.

A lone goal by Kebba Kujabi did the damage and inject lifeline into a scintillating second-period following a goalless episode in the first-half.

A game that could undoubtedly have witnessed floodgates of goals ended by a decisive chapter of 1-0 with mass chances on goal, agonisingly thwarted away by either side.

In a game dubbed talent vs experience, SV Laar's Amadou Gaye watched his poorly calculated shot stay. SV Laar have only themselves to blame after Gaye's near post miss. But Macassa ensured their trophy rivals are punished for their costly blushes as Kebba Kujabi slotted past a helpless SV Laar's goalkeeper Ebrima Ndure in the 47th minute.

Maccassa had their effort deservingly rewarded with a whopping 20,000 cash prize while SV Laar who proved season revelation team pocketed D15,000.
