Carthage — Ways to boost Tunisian-Algerian relations were discussed as Caretaker President Moncef Marzouki conferred, Wednesday in Carthage, with Algerian Foreign Minister Mourad Medelci.
The Algerian FM stressed the need to boost the strategic partnership between the two countries, particularly in the economic and development fields, said a Presidency press statement.
He noted the two countries' similar views on mechanisms allowing to resolve the crisis in Mali and address the security challenges in the Sahel and Sahara region.
The two sides agreed on the need to vitalise the Arab Maghreb Union as a strategic and objective goal to which people of the region aspire, added the same source.
The meeting was attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs Rafik Abdessalem.
