Tunisia: President Marzouki, Unido Official Discuss Employment of University Graduates

Carthage — Ways to boost partnership between Tunisia and the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) and promote bilateral co-operation programmes were discussed at a meeting held, Wednesday in Carthage, between Caretaker President Moncef Marzouki and UNIDO Director General Kandeh Yumkella.

The meeting also focused on mechanisms to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) at the financial and technical levels and the creation of an industry and services fabric in interior regions which suffer from unemployment and marginalisation, said a presidency press statement.

Mr. Kandeh Yumkella said UNIDO is funding a 3-million-dinar project in Tunisia focusing essentially on the integration of university graduates in the job market.
