Gambia: FOTGA Donates Cash, Trophy and Medals to Brufut Marathon

In keeping with a well established tradition, The Friends Of The Gambia Association, FOTGA, a renowned UK charity organisation supporting education and humanitarian services in The Gambia, Monday presented 24 medals, a trophy and 500 Pounds Sterling to the Brufut Marathon Association, BMA, as its contribution to the 2012 run slated for December 8th.

The presentation took place at the offices of FOTGA on Kotu Road and was presided over by David Smith, honorary treasurer of the FOTGA who said: "We are once again happy to donate to the Brufut Marathon, a gesture we started many years ago. We noted and wish to thank the BMA members for their hard work that made the event grow from a single race to many events."

Receiving the items, Ba S. Jabbie, chairman of the BMA, conveyed gratitude to the Friends of The Gambia Association, for their long history of support to the Brufut Marathon. He assured Smith that the items, as usual, would be used for the intended purposes to make this year's event more memorable and rewarding to all participants. The occasion was witnessed by BMA public relations officer, Lamin Cham, and FOTGA local staff.
