Algeria: Taoufik Makhloufi Wins Arab Prize
Olympic gold medallist Taoufik Makhloufi of Algeria won the 2012 Mohammed Bin Rashid Creative Sports Award for best Arab athlete of the year, APS reported on Tuesday (November 27th).
Moroccan athlete Najat El Garaa was awarded for beating the world record at the 2012 London Paralympics, while Olympic silver medallist Habiba Ghribi of Tunisia won a youth achievement award.
The award ceremony is slated for January 6th in Dubai.
